Energy UK response to uSwitch release on cold homes
In response to the uSwitch press release stating how 14 million households went cold this winter to cope with sky-high energy bills, Lawrence Slade, chief executive said:
"Energy companies have put a number of systems in place to protect the most vulnerable, especially lower income households. This includes subsidised energy efficiency measures, access to trust funds and a priority service register. Switching is the quick and easy way to save money. There are a number of deals to choose from and many deals are over £100 cheaper than this time last year. However making homes more energy efficient is the long term solution. That is why the industry has spent billions over the last few years to make homes more efficient.
